For solo violin with piano accompaniment
When listening, please start at the 30″ second mark; we did some tuning that accidentally wasn’t edited out of the recording.

|Notes||This piece was composed in April 2014 and follows the general ABA form of a nocturne, though both of the first two parts contain a development section. The A section makes use of the octatonic scale, and the B section relaxes somewhat into Ab major. This very intense piece could be considered a prayer without words. “When we do not know what to pray, the Spirit speaks to God for us with feelings that are too deep for words.” Romans 8:26, paraphrased.|
