FAQs about Ordering

Why do you have different payment options?

I am aware that performing new music can be an expensive endeavor, so I am trying to make access to new music more equitable while also making sure that I get paid for my work. It’s all on the honor system. If you have a larger budget, pay a higher price. If the lowest price is still too much, contact me and explain your situation.

I saw your work on J.W. Pepper and the pricing is different. Why?

J.W. Pepper takes a minimum of 50% from every sale. I put my work there because they provide print options. As part of the agreement, I also need to allow them to sell digital downloads. If I didn’t need the print services, I would not use them at all. I can offer a lower price on my website because I don’t have to share royalties and my overhead is lower.

Is your site secure?

Yes, WordPress has very strong security, and I keep your personal information private. Your credit card information is processed through a third-party and is not even seen by me.

Why should we order through you and not J.W. Pepper?

If you order through J.W. Pepper, I am told nothing about you. I don’t know who orders or where they are located, and I am given no contact information to be able to keep in touch with the people buying my music. This harms the new music ecosystem because it puts barriers in the relationship between composer and performer, inhibiting conversation and future commissions. Ordering directly from me not only saves you money and allows me to keep more of the money from the sale of my compositions, but it also allows you to have a direct relationship with a living composer. I will be able to let you know about new compositions and score releases, performances, commissioning opportunities, and other updates and also hear back from you!

How is your music formatted?

The PDFs of my pieces are formatted to be printed on 8-1/2 x 11-inch paper. They can also be imported into music-reading apps. Any variance from this is noted on the webpage for the piece.

What if I need a hard copy?

If you need to purchase a printed copy of the score or parts, please visit the J.W. Pepper link for the piece. I use J.W. Pepper because they offer print services.

When will I receive my order?

If you order from my website, please allow up to 48 hours for me to send you an email with the PDFs. I take time to watermark them, and I may be working around performances or traveling to conferences. It’s just me in the “office” right now!

How do I order?

On the page of the piece you wish to purchase, choose an amount from the options given and click on the “purchase” button. This will take you to a form where you will fill out your credit card information.

Who processes payment?

Payment processing is through Stripe.

What happens after I order?

After you order, I will get an email notifying me that you placed an order. I will begin working on getting your PDFs watermarked and ready to send. Then I will email the piece to you within 48 hours.
