I would love to help your church in its fundraising efforts through bringing a special reflective and contemplative piano concert to your congregation.
Who am I?
My name is Heather Niemi Savage, and I am a professional composer and pianist. I have participated in church music since I was six years old, when I began singing (and sometimes accompanying) my church’s children’s choir. Ever since, I have been committed to serving the churches in the various places I’ve lived through their music ministry, whether playing congregational hymns, sharing special music, accompanying the choir or vocal and instrumental soloists, or composing pieces to commemorate special events. I am currently the pianist at St. Luke’s UMC in Hickory, NC.

I love sacred music in all its forms, from the oldest chants to Palestrina, Bach cantatas to the Mozart requiem, traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs. They all have shaped me, personally and spiritually, and have influenced my own compositions.
I would love to share with you a special musical event, Piano Reflections during which I perform my own compositions.
What is it?
My concert Piano Reflections is a one-hour program that combines classical-style introspective solo piano meditations inspired by traditional hymns, commentary on the pieces, and relevant Scripture readings. It is designed to give audience members an opportunity to listen contemplatively and have a personal experience with God through the combination of music and Scripture.
I call these pieces “meditations,” but they are not quiet meditations. Instead, they invite listeners to grapple with the promises of God amidst life’s difficulties and disappointments.

Over $2,000 was raised!
The following meditation is inspired by Away in a Manger:
“Piano Reflections is an exceptional gift of music that stirs and evokes emotions that connect an audience with life and the human condition. This musical offering brings the audience on an honest journey that culminates into hope. Piano Reflections is awe-inspiring, moving, and uplifting. Composer and collaborative pianist, Heather Savage uses her exceptional talent to reach at the heart, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats. Piano Reflections by Heather Savage will be a blessing to any church or audience who has the privilege of sharing the experience.” Amy Spivey, Pastor of St. Luke’s UMC, Hickory, NC

Who is it for?
Piano Reflections is for any church with members who enjoy “classical” and “new age” style solo piano music and appreciate new interpretations of familiar hymns.
I desire to make Piano Reflections available to any church. Large churches can anchor, while smaller churches can round out, regional tours. Smaller churches may also wish to partner with other local churches to have me come.
How does it work?
The church commits to hosting a concert and advertising the concert to its congregation and surrounding community. I provide digital marketing materials and a program which can be printed out for audience members. Then, the day of the concert, I arrive and give the concert.
How is money raised?
A Love Offering is collected at the concert, and I receive a portion. The remainder goes toward the church’s special fundraising project.
Additionally, your church will be featured on all my social media accounts and YouTube channel as I document my travels, including (if you wish) a brief interview with the pastor highlighting the project for which your church is raising funds.
The following meditation is inspired by His Goodness Faileth Never.
